A Delicious 9 point Meal!

Who says you can't have a special dinner on Weight Watchers? Hank treated me to this delicious meal on Valentines' Day...all this for 9 points!

Here's the breakdown: 2 cheese raviolis = 6, acorn squash = 0, margarine = 1, broiled asparagus=0, salad = 0, salad dressing = 2.

See you all on Tuesday,
Cheryl & Hank

Weight-Loss Mantras

I found some of these 'mantras' to be quite helpful. My favorites are:

"Success requires backbone, not wishbone" and “If we defend our habits, we have no intentions of breaking them".  Maybe one or more of these will help you, too!

Eat Your Veggies Pasta Sauce

My daughter introduced me to this great sauce .. It's well worth the effort.. Go ahead and double the receipt and freeze half.

Kale Chips

1 Bunch of  Kale. 1 teaspoon of Sea Salt & 1 tablespoon of Olive Oil

  1. Preheat an oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Line a non insulated cookie sheet with parchment paper.
  2. With a knife or kitchen shears carefully remove the leaves from the thick stems and tear into bite size pieces. Wash and thoroughly dry kale with a salad spinner. Drizzle kale with olive oil and sprinkle with seasoning salt.
  3. Bake until the edges brown but are not burnt, 10 to 15 minutes.

Southwestern Egg Rolls

Found the perfect appetizer to bring to our dinner group Saturday night...Southwestern Egg Rolls from the emily bites recipe blog.

These were absolutely delicious and easy to make (especially for me since Hank did the cooking!). They are very filling and we got 26 good sized egg rolls from one recipe. Because the egg rolls are baked instead of fried, they are only 2 points each (0 points for the salsa to dip them in). Here's a link to the printable recipe page

See you tomorrow evening,

p.s. Where are all the guys??? No men on the blog yet?
