Hope this helps...

Bananajam

A NO POINTS recipe from Marilyn...

POINTLESS BANANAJAM: Mash 2 ripe bananas up good; make any flavor sugar-free gelatin according to package directions, and add the mashed bananas in. Chill, then when it's set, put into a jam jar and use it like you would jam, except it's POINTLESS. Just remember that it's as perishable as the fresh fruit you used; keep refrigerated.

Counting Down...

to Tuesday's weigh-in.

Just wanted to send out some positive karma to everyone as we load up on fruits and veggies today and tomorrow to have a good weigh-in tomorrow night. Sometimes, when the challenge is especially difficult, I close my eyes and visualize how good it feels to step off the scale, peek at my WW record, and see a loss. Makes it all worth it!
See you all tomorrow...

Yummy recipe!

Hi all - I just wanted to share that I made the Pork Cacciatore recipe that was in our January 6th flyer and it was quite tasty! I added some spinach to it at the last minute to up the veggie factor. I tried to include a link to the recipe on eTools but I was unsuccessful. I will bring some copies of the recipe to next week's meeting for the 'paper people'.  :)

Appetizer ideas???

We are in a monthly dinner club and it is our turn to bring the hors d'oeuvres next Saturday night. Any ideas for an appetizer that is fairly low in points and could be made ahead?
Thanks!

Thank You, Cheryl!

Having a place to "meet" with all of you without having to wait until Tuesday again is possible--thanks to you, Cheryl! Of course, all of us are the right kind of "losers" under MaryElizabeth's expert leadership...hey, Falmouth Weight Watchers are the BEST! I so look forward to our meetings--Thank you, Tammy for inviting me to this fabulous group! --Karen L

This is a great tool to measure your food AND rinse/drain it at the same time. I love mine!

Real French Dressing

Hi all
firstly a big thank you to Cheryl for acting so quickly to make this great idea a reality.
Now here is my first share ..since there was such an interest in "real French dressing " thought I'd post the receipt .
Combine the following to a paste :
2 cloves of garlic mashed / chopped / minced however you like ..
1Tablespoon of mustard ( classic is Dijon ) of your choice .
1/2 teaspoon salt
Add :
3 Tablespoons of white vinegar of your choice ..I like white wine or champagne vinegar.
Drizzle in :
9Tablespoons of olive oil while whisking. I use a stick hand blender.
Do not refrigerate this will keep up to 2 weeks in winter and a week in summer just store in a jar.
If it separates just re whisk.
Enjoy at 1 point per teaspoon ( a little goes a long way )

Tips for New Bloggers

Great meeting last night...what a group we have!

I just entered everyone's e-mail address into Blogger. If you did not receive an invitation to join the blog please let me know...I may have entered your e-mail address incorrectly...a few were hard to read. I added my e-mail address to the top of the right sidebar in case you need to contact me for help.
I also added three new links in the "Links" section of the right sidebar (farther down). They offer simple instructions for posting, commenting, or adding a photo or link to your blog post.

Congratulations again to Karen, who made goal last night. The fact that she stuck with it these past few months with teeny tiny losses each week really inspired me. Thanks, Karen!

Have a good point day everybody!

Need A Laugh?

Cheryl here: I'm reposting this from my personal blog ...it's an old story I shared at one of our Tuesday night WW meetings back in 2011...and it's TRUE! As embarassing as it is, I thought it was funny enough to repeat!
p.s. Check out the Links recently added to the right sidebar for some new recipes!

I've been a Weight Watcher for quite awhile now. All in all, I'm doing well...but today wasn't so good and I decided that I had to just sit back and just laugh at myself. Since I'm still laughing, I thought that you could probably use a good laugh too, albeit at my expense!

As some of you know, I'm a teacher. I arrived at school this morning and there were little cookies on a baking tray in the old Home Ec. room where I store my diet soda. I had just weighed in at the Weight Watchers Center on my way to school. I gained a pound and was feeling pretty discouraged so I snuck a cookie from the tray and ate it. Just one couldn't make it any worse, right?  Well, it was AWFUL! I ran to the sink to spit it out, figuring that the kids who had made these cookies must have really messed up the recipe.

A few minutes later, the special ed. teacher came into my office to tell me about her new class project:  They would be making dog biscuits and selling them to raise money for the Animal Refuge League. Guess what??? Their first batch was on the cookie sheets in the old Home. Ec. room!!!

MY FALMOUTH WEIGHT-MATES

HELLO  MY FALMOUTH WEIGHT-MATES....

I AM VERY EXCITED WITH OUR 'BLOG'  AND LOOK FORWARD TO EVERYONE'S CONTRIBUTIONS.   MY FIRST CONTRIBUTION IS A HUGE 'THANK YOU' TO CHERYL, IN HER PUTRID GREEN SWEATER, FOR CREATING & COMPOSING & INVITING ALL OF US TO JOIN TOGETHER,
I AM CERTAIN THAT OUR FALMOUTH GROUP IS THE FIRST AND ONLY 'BLOG' IN THE MAINE WEIGHT WATCHERS DIVISION...............AND I INTEND TO BRAG ABOUT US TO ALL THE OTHER WW LEADERS..................WE ARE THE WW BLOGGERS !!!!
  YAY US !!!!!!!    MARYELIZABETH, "LEADERLADY"

Welcome Falmouth Weight Watchers!

At out Falmouth meeting tonight I was amazed by all of the great tips that so many of you had to share...everything from recipes for salad dressing to tips on sugar from our two nurses to how to tell whether our yogurts are alive or not! As we talked after the meeting, some of us thought it would be fun to start a website where we could share with one another between meetings. It could be a good place to not only to exchange weight-loss tips and recipes but to offer support to one another on our weight loss journeys. So...I drove right home, logged on to the Internet, and got this little blog started.

Here's how it works. I have set this up on Blogger. With your permission, I can add all of you (who want to) as "co-authors" with just your e-mail address. Once I enter that into Blogger, you will be sent an invitation to join the blog. Blogger will do the rest by prompting you through the very simple process of creating a Google account. Then you can create posts to share with the rest of us. It's easy...promise. We can also comment on one another's posts by clicking the "Comment" link at the bottom of any post. This could be fun!

Now we've got it all...the best WW Leader on the planet, the nicest group of people, and a place to share all of our recipes, tips, weight loss stories, and - for the very brave - Before & After photos?

Just to get this started...my name is Cheryl. I'm the lady who wears that sick green color that Mary Elizabeth hates and sits with two goofy handsome men, Hank and Bernie, in the front row on the right each week. Hank is my husband and Bernie, well, he's just Bernie. I've been a Weight Watcher forever...I first made Lifetime when Dinosaurs still roamed the earth and then piled the weight back on over the years. I joined the Falmouth group in September of 2010, lost 35 pounds, and am struggling to lose the last five to finally reach goal. No matter how long it takes, I will do it!

Now it's your turn to log on and share with us. See you Tuesday!
